About BiCon 98

Thank you for expressing your interest in the 1998 UK Bisexual Conference, to be held over the weekend of 4-6 September, 1998 at New Hall, Cambridge.

what is Bicon?

Bicon exists to allow bisexuals from all over the UK - and overseas - to get together and have fun while discussing all things bi (whether it's forming relationships or fighting discrimination). It consists of three days of workshops combined with social spaces for those who want to talk less formally, and larger social events in the evening, kicking off at Friday lunchtime and going on til Sunday afternoon (with some events on Thursday for long-distance travellers!). If you have never been to a Bicon before, make sure you tick the relevant box on the enclosed form so that we can send you some extra information to help you get the most out of the conference.

what does it cost?

The registration fee, and the cost of accommodation, is linked to your annual income (see below). If you are unemployed or a student, you can take advantage of the lowest possible rate (please send us a photocopy of your UB40 or NUS card). The rest of the bands increase gradually with your stated annual income.

easier ways to pay

To make it easier to pay, we will accept three postdated cheques (one dated on the day of your booking, one dated 31/7/98 and one dated 31/8/98) if you can't come up with the full sum at once. You can also get a discount if you book before or at Pride on July 4th. Since prices are low it is unlikely that there will also be a hardship fund this year, but refunds may be possible for Band A attendees who tick the box.

Accommodation

Accommodation will be bed and breakfast in New Hall's own facilities, on the same site as the workshop rooms. There are single and double rooms with shared and ensuite facilities.

THE CLOSING DATE FOR ONSITE ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS IS 21/8/98 - SORRY, BUT WE CANNOT ACCEPT ANY ROOM BOOKINGS AFTER THIS DATE.
